Henna Aftercare Instructions
1. Keep the Henna Paste On
- Leave the henna paste on the skin for 4–8 hours (overnight is best for a darker stain).
- Avoid touching or smudging the design while it’s drying.
- Gently scrape off the dried henna paste using a spoon, fingernail, or tissue.
- Avoid washing with water immediately after removing the paste.
- Keep the design dry for at least 12 hours for best results.
- Water can lighten the stain in the first few hours, so avoid swimming, washing, or sweating heavily.
- Rub a thin layer of coconut oil, olive oil, or baby oil over the design to protect it and deepen the colour.
- Avoid petroleum-based products, as they may interfere with the stain.
- Henna initially appears orange and darkens to a rich reddish-brown over 24–48 hours.
- Henna designs usually last 5–14 days, depending on skin type and placement.
- Avoid excessive scrubbing, exfoliating, or chlorine to prolong the design.
- For children, avoid bathing, swimming, or using lotions on the area for the first 12–24 hours.
- Supervise kids to prevent them from rubbing or scratching the design.
