Health and Safety
Safety and hygiene is of prime importance when face painting. I follow a strict code of practice regarding hygiene. All paints and glitters used are professional products designed solely for use on skin. The face paints are water-based and the glitters and pigments are cosmetic-grade. They comply with FDA and EU regulations.
Allergic reactions to face paint are incredibly rare. However, to keep any sensitivity to a minimum, anyone suffering from skin conditions (such as eczema or psoriasis), contagious infections (such as cold sores or conjunctivitis) or a severe allergy (such as a nut allergy), active chicken pox, wounds and new bruising, sunburn and flaking skin, any known allergies to make-up, intolerance to latex & rubber (glitter tattoos only), alcohol intoxication, spots, sore or broken skin cannot be painted. If you are unsure whether your child or you is allergic to face paints, a skin test is encouraged. This involves a small dab of paint on the wrist.
All equipment is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected where necessary between events. Brush water is changed regularly during a session. Paint is best removed with warm water and a face cloth.
Some paints may leave a slight tint on the skin which should fade in a day or so.
At private events/parties, it is the responsibility of the organiser to ensure that the permission of parents/guardians is obtained prior to children being painted. Children under 2 years cannot be painted.
I don't take no responsibility for the welfare or safety of persons waiting to be painted. Please ensure that children waiting to be painted are supervised at all times.
All persons wishing to be painted must be presented with a clean, dry face.
No eating or drinking while being painted.
Photographs will not be used without parental/guardian consent.
I hold Public Liability Insurance and have DBS .These can be provded by request.
